Open source
A specification your team agrees and your agents build from.
Loft is a specification format, a command line and an agent skill. The specification lives in your repository next to the code, so every change starts from what people agreed.
Use it on your own or as a team.
Local edition
Free and open source under Apache-2.0. The command line and the agent skill for Claude Code and Codex run in your repository, with no server. Install it with npm or cargo.
Hosted Loft
A shared place where product specialists, engineers and reviewers work on the same specification. It adds advanced specification analysis, SSO, audit logs and retention controls for organizations.
One loop for every change.
Author
Your agent interviews you, proposes an outline and writes requirements and acceptance criteria. You choose between the options it lays out.
Ratify
The people who own the product read the change and agree it. Publishing records the agreed version in the repository.
Implement
The agent implements against the agreed version. A gap found while coding goes back into the specification first.
Reconcile
Loft links each criterion to the tests that check it, and flags links to review when a criterion changes or a test disappears.
Decide
An authorized person reviews the results and accepts the change, rejects it or reopens it.
Your repository, your data.
Your files
The specification and its history live in your Git repository.
Your agent and model
Your coding agent and model provider set their own costs, access and data terms. Check them before you share private code.
Start with a new feature or an existing system.
New feature
Specify one feature with your agent before any of its code is written.
Existing system
Your agent drafts the specification from the code, tests and documentation. The people who know the system correct it before the next change.
Start with the quickstart.
If a step fails, open a GitHub issue with the version and a small example we can reproduce.
